Watch Bridge’s Lunch Break celebration of our 10th anniversary

Bridge Michigan celebrated its 10th anniversary as part of its monthly Lunch Break series on Wednesday, kicking off a year of events commemorating the milestone.

Participants included the Center for Michigan’s (Bridge’s nonprofit publisher) president and CEO John Bebow, founder and chair Phil Power, senior writer Ron French, environment reporter Kelly House, Capitol reporter Sergio Martínez-Beltrán and membership director Amber DeLind.

BridgeDetroit executive editor Stephen Henderson moderated the hour-long event, and many of the Center for Michigan and Bridge Michigan staffers greeted readers during the virtual discussion.

More than 130 readers attended the event that recounted the history of Bridge and the center, our growth and aspirations for the future. If you weren’t able to attend, you can watch it below. You can also read a timeline of Bridge’s history here.

Bridge’s Lunch Break monthly series focuses on timely topics and statewide issues. Previous discussions have focused on racial equity, the impact of COVID-19 on K-12 education, high water levels in the Great Lakes, the November election, readers’ COVID-19-related questions, Bridge’s coverage plans for 2021, coronavirus vaccine distribution, openness in Michigan government, COVID-19’s impact on higher education, Michigan’s redistricting process,  labor pipeline struggles, climate change and environmental justice and youth mental health.
