Help power our Capitol watchdog reporting in the leadup to 2022 elections

John Bebow

With our summer crowdfunding campaign kicking off today, I want to take a moment and thank loyal Bridge Michigan readers like you.

When we launched Bridge ten years ago, it was hard to imagine that we would have more than 3 million site visitors in one year and have grown our staff more than three times its original size. All of the great investigative and exploratory journalism you’ve read from our passionate team happened because of the support of readers just like you.

But this growth also requires additional resources. Over the next two weeks, we are seeking to raise $25,000 to support the work of our Capitol news team in the leadup to next year’s statewide and congressional elections.

This support will bolster the work of our Capitol reporters, allowing our team to dive deeper into investigations, follow the important developments in our state’s redistricting process and in 2022’s election, watchdog the policies and proposals of the Legislature and state agencies and more.  Michigan government is one of the topics Bridge readers told us is a top priority in our most recent reader survey, and we’re excited to be able to deliver even more coverage in this area.

There’s no better time than now to contribute to this crowdfunding campaign. First-time donations are being matched dollar for dollar by the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation and by the Herrick Foundation.

Will you chip in to help us meet this goal?

We truly appreciate your consideration of this request, and thank you for being a Bridge reader.
